 AHMEDABAD

INDIA, AHMEDABAD

After such a wonderful productive time in Varanasi I wished to further explore wood block carving, and printing of the woodblocks onto handspun, handwoven silk and cotton. This time the inherent stories related not to India alone but to a universal concern – the destruction of the world's ancient trees and rainforests by those hungry for money and power.

The woodblocks are carved from 600 year old Burmese teak rescued from demolished Haveli's within the old city of Ahmedabad.
